The media report that the lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency and House of Representatives Committee on Youths in Parliament, Hon. Olamijuwinlo Alao-Akala has taken up the education of the only surviving daughter of late Mrs Kudirat Moshod, the banku seller who met her untimely death with her two daughters on the night of Wednesday, November 13, 2024 is a welcome development.
The intervention of Hon. Alao-Akala in the life of little Baliks comes as a great relief because, upon hearing about the gruesome death of her mother and her two sisters, Balikis vowed to end her life, believing that future holds nothing for her. It takes intervention of your’s sincerely and many others in my area to dissuade the little girl from ending her life.
I want to sincerely thank the publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Insight, Mr Femi Ogunlana, for his interest in the case and for giving it deserved publicity. Lamiju Akala could not do lesser because he came from a father whose life revolves round generosity. How livable would life has been if our well to do people could be their brother’s keepers, the virtues Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala exhibits in the case?
In addition, I want to admonish Hon. Alao-Akala, Senator Abdul-Fatal Omotayo Buhari and our representatives in the Oyo State House of Assembly to please put pressure on our governments at all levels to help fix the collapsed sections of the Ibadan/Ilorin Express Way that passes through Ogbomoso. Not only that moribund new Ibadan/ Ilorin express way equally deserves attention particularly, Oyo/ Ogbomoso section. It is highly ridiculous, nauseating and disgusting for Federal Government to fail to construct an express way of less than 150 kilometers in 21 years. The loss of lives and property on this road is collosal. It appears our governments do not care about human lives lost on this road. If not, the road would have been fixed. Unfortunate thing is that our representatives mostly travel by air and probably safe from the menace of our roads.
But right thinking leaders would never think that way. I believe our leaders in Ogbomoso are exceptions. The spirits of people, including Mrs Kudirat Moshod and her innocent daughters, killed due to the negligence of our leaders are crying in their graves for vengeance though, our leaders are implored to do needful to save other innocent Nigerians from untimely death that is never due to their faults but that of their heartless and wicked leaders.
