By Josiah Olayiwola
Take my sorrow.
Give me freedom,
Teach me to sing,
And give me good heart.
Light my fire,
I love burning,
Burning for you,
In my young days.
Save my soul, Lord,
Peril sings here,
Sing it loudly,
Like a big hawk.
Life without you;
A waste existence,
If I have much,
Still the poorest.
Teach me to love,
My neighbours and You,
To show much love,
You love being loved.
Give me your spirit,
The only holy spirit,
That shapes my life
To close more to you.
Take away my sins,
Those heavy burden,
That can thwart my journey,
To only home of comfort.
Give me sweet life,
My life needs that,
To enjoy you here,
Before I come thither.
