A 34-year-old man in Adamawa State, Iliya Adamu, has hanged himself after being continually accused of stealing N40,000.
Adamu committed the act after his brother lost the said N40,000 and accused him of stealing it.
It was gathered the whole story began about seven months ago when the brother, whose name has not been ascertained, fingered Adamu of stealing his money.
The bricklayer in Girei, who works near the state capital, Yola, was accused of stealing the money in April.
It was gathered Adamu decided to take his life at the weekend after several months of putting up with the constant allegations of his brother.
Residents found his body dangling from a tree branch in the bush in Girei.
A witness said an empty container of insecticide was found on the ground at the scene, suggesting that he took the deadly poison before coiling the suicidal rope around his neck and releasing himself finally to death.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, saying that officials from relevant departments of the Police Command were investigating the matter.
