Fellow Nigerians!
Today, we gather to celebrate 25 years of uninterrupted democratic process in our great nation. This milestone is a testament to our collective resilience and determination to deepen democracy in Nigeria.
We recall the struggles of our past, the dark days of military rule, the pain of political instability, and the uncertainty of our nation’s future. We remember the sacrifices of our heroes past, who fought tirelessly for the democracy we enjoy today.
But despite the progress we’ve made, we must acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. Our nation faces security threats, food crises, and welfare concerns that require urgent attention. We urge the government to prioritize these issues and work towards finding lasting solutions.
However, we also recognize that national development is a collective responsibility. We must all contribute our skills, talents, and resources to build a better Nigeria. We must work together to create opportunities, promote unity, and foster a culture of peace and understanding.
In particular, we call for swift approval and implementation of the new minimum wage to alleviate the suffering of our workers. We also demand the implementation of developmental agendas that will stimulate economic growth and improve the standard of living for all Nigerians.
As we move forward, let us remember the third stanza of our national anthem: “O God of all creation, Grant this our one request. Help us to build a nation Where no man is oppressed, And so with peace and plenty Nigeria may be blessed.”
Let us work together to build a Nigeria where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. A Nigeria where our diversity is celebrated, and our unity is strengthened.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Long live democracy!
Thank you.
