
The Deputy Rector (Academics) of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, has urged the Heads of Departments (HODs) to prioritize academic excellence and align with the institution’s vision of becoming a model of higher education in Nigeria.
Mr. Ojo made this call during a strategic briefing held on Monday, alongside the institution’s Director of Academic Planning (DAP), Engr. Dr. (Mrs.) Temilola Morufat Adepoju.
The meeting brought together all 14 departmental heads in a bid to foster synergy and accountability across academic departments.
Expressing confidence on the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Mr. Ojo emphasised the administration’s commitment to quality education and institutional growth. He reiterated that the Rector is implementing strategic plans aimed at positioning Federal Polytechnic Ayede as a beacon of academic excellence.
“On behalf of our highly cerebral and amiable Rector, I congratulate the newly appointed and returning HODs. One of the key strategies for institutional advancement is consistent engagement and review,” Mr. Ojo stated. “The desire of our Rector is to take this institution to the pinnacle of academic distinction, and that requires the collective effort of all stakeholders.”
Mr. Ojo also charged the departments to strictly adhere to Academic Board guidelines and encouraged them to convene departmental board meetings within the week, ahead of a scheduled Special Academic Board meeting next week.
In her remarks, Dr. Adepoju urged HODs to expedite the collation and submission of results for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.
Federal Polytechnic Ayede, established in 2021, currently runs 14 academic departments, including: Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology, Statistics, Electrical Electronic Engineering Technology, Tourism Management Technology, Agricultural Technology
Others include Urban and Regional Planning, Estate Management and Valuation, Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration, Office Technology and Management as well as General Studies (as a servicing department).
