
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for partnering the institution in organising the maiden workshop on Career Service.
The beneficiaries of the workshop which held on Wednesday and themed “The Role of Career Service Centre Staff” at the institution’s TETFund 250-Seater Auditorium, included the Principal Officers, Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments, including other staff.
In his remark during the workshop, the Rector, represented by the Deputy Rector (Academics), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, lauded what he called the tremendous support of the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed said, “Let me on behalf of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Management, staff and students, thank the Executive secretary the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Arc. Sonny Echono, for his numerous supports for our institution.
“TETFund has played a pivotal role in the development of Federal Polytechnic Ayede. This partnership is another success story and we are most grateful.
“I want to seize this moment to encourage our staff to maximize the opportunity of the workshop in a way that benefits the students, staff and the society at large.”
“We remain resolute in the progress and development of Federal Polytechnic Ayede. That is why we have just established our Career Service Centre under the leadership of Engr. Dr. Mrs. Temilola Morufat Adepoju as Director and Mr. Zainul Abideen Aliu as Deputy Director.
The facilitator of the workshop, Dr. Mrs. Olayemi Zainab Oduola, who is the Director of the Career Service Centre, Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, said the clamour for the centre is hinged, among others, on incorporation of holistic approach to counselling in order to meet socio-personal needs, academic and personal needs, unemployment among the youths.
Dr. Oduola stated that the career centre should instill training and entrepreneurship in the students.
She encouraged the centre to start organising career fairs by inviting different organisations like telecommunication companies and beyond.
Pan-Nigerian News reports that apart from the workshop which held yesterday, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, for the management staff and the HODs, the training continues today, Thursday, July 17, 2025, for all the ND II students of the institution.
The Principal Officers present included: Deputy Rector (Academics), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo; Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola, represented by Deputy Registar, Mr. Gafari Kolapo Olatinwo; Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Samuel Oke Ogunniyi.
