The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youths in Parliament, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao-Akala, has congratulated Christians and Nigerians the world over on this year’s Easter celebration.
Hon. Alao-Akala, son of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State, who currently represents Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, called on Christians across Nigeria to reflect deeply on the true meaning of Easter, urging them to live lives rooted in love, sacrifice, and hope.
Alao-Akala, in the Easter statement he personally signed, urged Christians mark Easter beyond mere celebration, saying, “Easter is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice and unconditional love shown by Jesus Christ. As we mark this sacred season, I encourage all Christians to reflect the values of humility, forgiveness, and selflessness in their daily lives. Let the resurrection of Christ inspire renewed hope, unity, and compassion in our communities.”
He further called on Nigerians to use the season as an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of peace and contribute to nation-building through acts of kindness, empathy, and service to others.
Hon. Alao-Akala stated, “As Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I extend my warmest Easter greetings to the good people of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire Federal Constituency as well as all Nigerians, home and in the Diaspora.
“This season reminds us of the values of sacrifice, love, renewal, and hope. It is a time to reflect on the significance of unity and service to humanity.
“I especially greet His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, other respected traditional rulers, eminent political and religious leaders, among others, for their steadfast leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the progress of our land.
“May this Easter bring joy to every household and inspire us to work together in building a more prosperous and united nation.”
