Indications emerged on Tuesday that another stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Adeniran Alagbe, will dump the APC, stressing that the lacks fairness, justice, equality and transparency.
The grassroots politician, who is also a financial consultant and business entrepreneur, lamented that the party seems to have been reserved for an individual at the detriment of other eminently qualified aspirants.
Hon. Alagbe, who is a staunch supporter of former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has been in a race to represent Ogbomoso North State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly since 14 years ago on the platforms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Action Democratic Party (ADP) and APC.
PanNigerian News authoritatively gathered that Alagbe will dump the APC any moment from now, with explanation that he was still reviewing his membership of the main opposition party in the state and to make his decision public very shortly.
The politician from Isale Ora/Saja ward in Ogbomoso North local government area still revealed that it is not compulsory he contests in the coming election. He noted, however, that he needs to be in a party where his teaming supporters across the his constituency will be carried along in the scheme of things.
Speaking with PanNigerian News in Ogbomoso, on Tuesaday, Alagbe said, “There is no peace, justice and the party has been reserved for one person to benefit from it. There is no equality and some people take their selfish interest above the general interest. People like us don’t have a way of achieving our aspiration.
“Right now, I’m reviewing my membership of the party. I will communicate this in due time very shortly. I have invested in parties for more than 14 years. Have been one of the major financial pillars when Odour leader, Alao-Akaka, was alive and I have never benefited anything. It has just been deceit all along.
“I’m eminently qualified, given my experience in legislative advocacy in the National Assembly and all that.”
He, however, did not reveal his next political party and journey.
It will be noted that in recent time, there has been a sizable number of politicians who have defected to and fro the major and minor political parties in Nigeria, preparatory to the coming general election.
What a free world!
