Beginning from today, Monday, December 15, 2025, a new chapter opens at the Federal Polytechnic Ayede as the institution formally receives a fresh cohort of students who have competed favourably for admission. For these young Nigerians, the journey into higher technical education begins not just with lectures and registration, but with the promise of purpose, discipline and national relevance.
Admission into any tertiary institution is no mean feat in today’s Nigeria. It is the outcome of perseverance, merit and hope. For the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, welcoming new students is also a moment of reflection, on how far the institution has come within a short time, and on the responsibility it bears to shape minds that will contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
It is therefore fitting to commend the leadership that has continued to lay a solid foundation for growth and stability. The Governing Council, under the chairmanship of Hon. Yakubu Dati (FNIPR), has provided strategic direction and oversight. At the administrative helm, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), has demonstrated purposeful leadership, supported by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo.
Equally deserving of commendation are the principal officers whose commitment keeps the institution running smoothly: the Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola; the Bursar, Alhaja Rashidat Titilola Oladepo; and the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Samuel Oke Ogunniyi. The Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and indeed all staff have collectively shown that institution-building is a shared responsibility.
The new students are expected to report at the temporary site of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, located at Iresa-Pupa in Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State. Adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure a warm reception. Officers across relevant units are fully prepared to guide the students through each stage of the registration process, ensuring clarity, orderliness and efficiency.
From all indications, the registration exercise will be seamless. Beyond the paperwork, however, lies a deeper mission: to induct these students into a culture of excellence, integrity and innovation. The Polytechnic stands not merely as a place of learning, but as a community where character is moulded alongside technical competence.
As these fresh students step into the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, they are not just joining an institution—they are becoming part of its history. Their successes, struggles and achievements will, in time, define the story of Ayede as much as policies and buildings do.
On behalf of the entire Polytechnic community, I warmly welcome our new students. May their stay be enriching, their learning transformative, and their future bright.
