The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Hon. Zacchaeus Adedeji as the acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
The Rector of the Institution, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed stated that the appointment is a round peg in a round hole, adding that the organisation will receive a boost with the sterling performance of Adedeji whom he described as a core professional of high repute in the industry.
President Bola Tinubu this week appointed Hon. Adedeji, a native of Iwo-Ate in Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Oyo State, as the FIRS boss.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by the institution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, and made available to pannigeriannews.com on Saturday.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed, in the statement, said, “I want to on behalf of the Management of Federal Polytechnic Ayede congratulate Hon. Zacchaeus Adedeji on his appointment as acting Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service.
“I will also like to commend the President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for finding the person for the job and even for appointing an indigene of Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Oyo State, the host community of our Polytechnic, as FIRS boss.
“The astute professional’s expertise and diverse experience will, no doubt, be brought to bear for the advancement of FIRS and Nigeria, as a whole.”
Dr. Abdul-Hameed also noted that Hon. Adedeji’s diverse experiences as a Commissioner of Finance in Oyo State, Executive Secretary of National Sugar Development Council, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Revenue, among other private sector’s engagement, would be of immense benefit to the nation.
