The management of Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Oyo State, has hinted that it will be offering scholarships to the best students of the institution.
Addressing the students on Thursday at the Orientation Ceremony heralding its maiden matriculation for the 2022/2023 academic session, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, noted that the Polytechnic’s decision to award the scholarship was motivated by its desire to support the growth and development of students who are incredibly high achieving academically as well as distinguished themselves.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed said the proposed gesture would not only motivate the students, but also offer them succour in their educational pursuit.
“It is important to state that this will be an honour of tremendous pride that we will be encouraging our students, particularly, those that have distinguished themselves academically, irrespective of sex, religion, and tribe. This will be a sense of pride, encouragement, and motivation to them”, the Rector said.
He continued, “somebody who wants to be a leader would be somebody who is so serious with his studies; he will ensure that whatever he’s doing will be something that will make his life to be in progression, not something that will cause retrogression in his life. I wish you all the best.”
The highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to the most frequent library users by Rector, on behalf of the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr Samuel Oke Ogunniyi.
