Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church (AIBC), located on Jerry Awodoye Street, Papa Alajiki area of Ogbomoso has ordained five newly selected deacons and deaconesses.
Ayo-Igbala Baptist Church is of the Ogbomoso Bethel Baptist Association, Ogbomoso Baptist Conference under the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC).

During the ordination service held on Sunday in the church auditorium, two of the hitherto serving leaders, Deacon Abiodun John Okeniyi and Deacon Joseph Babatunde Adeyemo rotated out of the assignments after six years of meritorous service.

While commending the rotated out deacons, the Minister in Charge of AIBC, Rev’d Sunday Abiodun Ajibowu, thanked the duo of Deacons Okeniyi and Adeyemo for what he called exceptional services and dedication.
He stated that they served God through their totality, including their personal property and more.

The newly ordained and their portfolios included Dn Taiwo Moses Akinola, Christian Education and Maintenance; Dn James Oluseyi Ogunmola, the Sick and the Bereaved; Dn Jacob Olaniyi Oyedemi, Youths/Students and Ecumenicals; Dns Serah Omolayo Akinfenwa, Widows and the Aged; Dns Abiodun Yetunde Olabisi, Missionary Unions and New Membership.

Rev’d Babalola, while charging the new servants, said God expects the newly ordained deacons to discharge their duties according to the standard established by God.

He, however, decried that some that are called to serve discharge their responsibilities according to the dictates of the flesh, rather than of God’s principles as stated in the Bible.
“It is is worrisome to note that nowadays that some churches are now choosing standards outside of God’s plans,” Babalola said.
Rev’d Babalola beseeched Christians and the new deacons to always listen to the voice of God, tasking them not to see the assignment as positions, but rather as a call to service under the directive of the church pastor.
“If our service will be acceptable, it must be to the glory of God and must be carried out as spelt out in the scriptures.
“We beseech you, the new deacons, to seek God’s face and re-dedicate yourselves to the service of God for the growth of the kingdom.” Babalola said.
Otherrs on the programme were the Secretary of AIBC, Engr. Dr. Moses Oluwatobi Fajobi; Pastor Sunday O. Ogungbile; Pastor M. Z. Bankole; Mr. I. O. Subuloye; Mrs J. O. Ajayi; Mrs G. B. Alade, all of the AIBC.
