The Baale Osupa Ruling House of the Baale Osupa Royal Dynasty of Osupa in Ogbomosoland, has announced the passing of its patriarch and oldest member, Pa Samuel Idowu Adeleke, fondly known as Baba Iluju.
Pa Adeleke, who until his demise was the Baale (Head of Family) of the Malegbe Ruling House, passed on today, having lived for more than 100 years.
Family sources described his death as a remarkably fulfilled life dedicated to service, tradition and peace.
A revered custodian of history and tradition, the d deceased hero was widely respected within Osupa and beyond for his wisdom, fatherly counsel and unwavering commitment to unity within the royal family and the wider community.
His leadership and deep knowledge of customs earned him admiration as a stabilising force and symbol of continuity in Osupa land.
Reacting to his passing, the Head of the entire five ruling houses, Prince Oluwole Oladokun, decribed Pa Adeleke as a selfless being who lived a life dedication.
Also speaking on the death, Prince Sunday Ayoola Oyebamiji of Malegbe Ruling House of Baale Osupa, described the death as a great loss not only to the Malegbe Ruling House but to the entire Osupa community.
He recalled a memorable visit to Baba Adeleke at his Iluju residence last year, noting that the encounter was a rare opportunity to interact with a living repository of history and tradition.
“Baba’s demise has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill. His contributions to family cohesion, cultural preservation and peaceful coexistence will remain indelible,” Prince Oyebamiji said.
He added that the late patriarch would be sorely missed for his guidance, humility and enduring legacy, praying that Almighty God grants the family, the Malegbe Ruling House and the entire Osupa community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Pa Adeleke’s life and times, family sources say, will continue to be celebrated as a testament to longevity, service and devotion to tradition.
