A non-governmental organisation (NGO) headquartered in Lokoja, Kogi State, Centre for Ethics and Self-Value Orientation (CESVO) has honoured the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, in recognition of his fiscal discipline and prudent management of the institution’s funds.

Presenting the award on Tuesday at the institution’s Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Auditorium, the Executive Director of CESVO, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, commended the Rector for his outstanding achievements since assuming office.

The polytechnic under your leadership, has been nominated amongst the top 10 most ethically responsible, corrupt-free, and examination ethics compliance tertiary federal polytechnic in nigeria having performed creditable well during the period under review.

Prince Yakubu said the nomination is a testament to the institution’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics in academia.


He further disclosed that, as part of the honour, CESVO would train 100 staff members and 100 students of the institution on ethics and values, after which certificates would be issued to the participants.

In his response, Dr. Abdul-Hameed expressed surprise at the recognition, noting that he had no prior relationship with CESVO.

He described the award as proof that people are silently monitoring public office holders and urged staff to remain diligent in their duties.

“The fact that people are watching us should motivate everyone to do more. For me, this recognition is a challenge that the good can never be better than the best,” he said.



Speaking on behalf of the institution, Deputy Rector (Academic), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, thanked CESVO for the recognition and assured that the Polytechnic would not relent in its efforts to rank among the best in Nigeria.
Other highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards and certificates to the Rector, the institution, and distinguished individuals.
