The Federal Polytechnic Ayede has felicitated Muslim faithful in the institution and the world on the commemoration of the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad, today.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, in a statement by the institution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Adepoju, felicitates the Muslims across the globe as well as the Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the institution on this year’s commemoration of the Holy Prophet’s birth anniversary.
Dr Abdul-Hameed urged Muslims all over the world to celebrate the exemplary life of the noble Prophet which is worthy of emulation.
He said celebrating the life of the Prophet alone is enough even if Muslims fail to practice the good deeds of the Prophet, which stands Him out amongst his contemporaries.
Abdul-Hameed said Prophet Muhammad lived harmoniously with Jews, Christians and other religious sects during his lifetime, calling, therefore, on today’s Muslims to emulate the exemplary life lived by the Holy Prophet.
He said living a life of peace and harmony will not only help Nigeria to develop but also to be the best among commity of nations.
Abdul-Hameed said the Prophet was a president, finance minister and a controller of the treasury during his lifetime, but he died a poor man.
He, therefore, urged leaders in all facets of life to emulate the Prophet and work selflessly to uplift the country at this critical time.
“So, on behalf of the Chairman of our Governing Council, Barrister Ademubowale Mercy Adelabu, Members of the Council, Management, staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, I congratulate the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the globe on this year’s celebration of Maolud Nabiy.
“I beseech every Muslim to emulate the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s teaching and lifestyle,” Abdul-Hameed said.
Dr Abdul-Hameed said from beginning to the end of Holy Quran, God says the Prophet is the best in character.
He enjoyed all Nigerians to be disciplined and be the best in their places of work, market and in their official duties.
The scholar, nonetheless, said wining, dining, singing and dancing is not enough to celebrate the Prophet but to also emulate the legacy that makes the name of Holy Prophet to remain evergreen in the hearts of billions of human race.
