The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State has felocitated the Muslims and Nigerians at large on the completion of 1446 Ramadan.
Speaking on behalf of the institution on Sunday, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, urged Muslims to inculcate the lessons learnt during the month of Ramadan to reflect in their daily life conduct.
Dr Abdul-Hameed explained that Quran 2 chapter 183 says “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become pious.”
He noted that the essence of Ramadan is for Muslims to become a new beings.
He compared the whole month of self denial to a man who went for a month of rigorous training or seminar and become a better person for tasks ahead of him.
Dr Abdul-Hameed advised Muslims to inculcate the habits of giving, love, perseverance and determination.
He admonished the Islamic faithful to imbibe the spirits of sharing, giving and companionship, noting that the said principles amongst the populace is a must for the nation to thrive at this critical time.
The Rector said the end of Ramadan must not stop Muslims from doing good deeds as the essence of the month is to replicate all that was learnt during the month in their day-to-day activities.
He urged Muslims to pray for Nigeria and its leaders at this critical time.
“So, on behalf of the Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Hon. Yakubu Dati, and Members, Management, Staff and Students, I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, and the Polytechnic Community on this year’s completion of the Holy month of Ramadan,” Abdul-Hameed said.
