The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State has announced a week-long schedule of activities for its combined maiden convocation programmes for the award of Diplomas, prizes and fellowships, slated for Sunday, February 8 to Friday, February 13, 2026.
According to an official document signed by the institution’s Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr. Akinola Odesola, and made available to journalists by the acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Mr. Sunday Adepoju, the convocation will feature a series of academic, religious and social events across the Polytechnic’s temporary and permanent sites.
According to Mr. Odesola, the programme will commence on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with a Church Service scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the TETFund Building, Temporary Site, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Iresa-Pupa.
Also on Monday, February 9, there will be a Press Conference by 11:00 a.m. at the Administrative Building, Permanent Site of the institution to be addressed by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taoefeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed.
On Tuesday, February 10, a Novelty Football Match between teaching and non-teaching staff will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Polytechnic’s Sports Ground, Temporary Site, Iresa-Pupa, Surulere Local Government Area.
The highlight of the academic activities comes up on Wednesday, February 11, with the Convocation Lecture to be delivered by Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, Executive Chairman, Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) on the theme “The Role of Technology in Implementing Nigeria’s New Tax Laws: Challenges, Prospects, and Implications for National Development,” by 12 noon at the Permanent Site, Ayede, Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Ogbomosoland, with the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, serving as Chairman.
The main Convocation Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, February 12, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. at the Polytechnic’s Permanent Site.
Activities lined up for the day include the conferment of the Polytechnic’s Fellowship Awards on eminent Nigerians, namely Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON; Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji; and Dr. Abubakar Isa who is the Chairman/CEO of Spectrum Nigeria Limited, as well as the award of National Diplomas and prizes to graduands of the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
The convocation activities will be rounded off on Friday, February 13, with a Jumat Prayer by 1:30 p.m. at the Temporary Site, Iresa-Pupa, Surulere LGA.
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic has advised all graduands to pay a convocation fee of ₦40,000.00 via the Remita platform by visiting www.remita.net, selecting Pay Federal Government, Federal Polytechnic Ayede School Fees, with narration as Convocation Fee, while providing their name, email address and phone number.
The information also states that upon presentation of evidence of payment, graduands are to collect their academic gowns and guest invitation cards (two) at their respective school offices between Monday, February 2 and Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The institution further directed that complete academic gowns must be returned on or before Monday, February 17, 2026, warning that failure to comply will attract a surcharge of ₦1,000 per day for late submission.
