Hon. Alao-Akala offers varsity scholarship to student with highest UTME in Ogbomoso

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youths in Parliament and lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, has awarded full university scholarship to one Adeleke Joshua Adedamola, a school student of Smith International Baptist Academy (SIBAO), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The lawmaker made the announcement in a video call with the brilliant student, who scored 350 marks, out of 400, in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the highest score recorded in Ogbomoso this year.
Hon. Alao-Akala also held a separate conversation with Joshua’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adeleke, commending them for their son’s exceptional academic achievement and sharing in their joy.
The scholarship, according to the lawmaker, will cover Joshua’s tuition for the entire duration of his university education in any institution of his choice within Nigeria.
“I am committed to promoting and rewarding academic excellence in my constituency. This scholarship is part of my broader mission to create opportunities for our children and youth to thrive. I believe in Joshua’s potential and I am proud to support his academic journey,” Hon. Alao-Akala stated.
He also encouraged Joshua to remain focused and continue to shine as a beacon of excellence, assuring him of his continuous support.
“Go out and continue shining, Star Boy. Keep the flag flying high—I will be rooting for you,” he added.
