Ladoke Akintola University of Technology’s Department of Agricultural Economics has announced its coming inaugural public lecture, marking a significant milestone in the history of the institution.
The event, to be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, will feature prominent figures in the field of agricultural economics and technology.
Oluwayemisi Iranloye, C.E.O. of Psaltry International Company, and Engineer Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Operations at Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) will be guest lecturers.
According to a release signed by the Head of Department, Prof. Funke Iyabo Olagunju, the lecture, titled “Harnessing Technology: Digital Solutions to Agri-processing Optimization”, aims at exploring the transformative power of digital solutions in agriculture.
Prof. Olagunju will introduce the department’s commitment to advancing agricultural knowledge and innovation.
“Our department excels in research, teaching and extension services, focusing on improving agricultural productivity, market analysis, trade policy, agribusiness management, and sustainable development.
“We will be honoured to host distinguished guest lecturers, including Oluwayemisi Iranloye, C.E.O. of Psaltry International Company, and Engineer Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Operations at Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA).
“Engr. Badmus is an alumnus of our institution. He and Iranloye exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit we cultivate in our students.
