The Personal Assistant to a veteran thespian, Chief Lere Paimo (popularly called Eda Onile Ola) has debunked the news of the demise of ace Nollywood actor saying the news which has gone viral is a figment of imagination.
Also, the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has described the news as false confirming Chief Paimo a.k.a. Eda Onileola is alive.
“Baba is very much alive, he is not dead. It is unfortunate how people could be despicable. I am with Baba now and there is nothing like that. Baba is still asleep,” the PA, Ariyo said while speaking with ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
He said it has become an annual ritual for bloggers to “break such news about his death. But Baba always heap curses on them.”
Also in an announcement signed by Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, national PRO, Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) the news was debunked, urging the people to always verify news before circulating.
“Baba Eda, Chief Lere Paimo MFR is NOT Dead. He is alive and well. Disregard all rumours.
“We would like to inform the public that reports circulating on Facebook about the passing of Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR) are false.
“We have confirmed with Baba Eda Onile Ola’s wife that he is alive and in good health.
“Please disregard these false reports and be aware that they are being spread by unscrupulous individuals.
“Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR), Chairman Board of Trustee Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), is alive and well.
“We urge everyone to verify information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation.”
