Ahead the 2024 local government elections, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s councilorship candidate in Osupa Ward (09) in Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo State, Hon. Rasheed Kamoru (a.k.a. Oganla), has urged the electorate in the state and particularly in Ogbomoso to consider the pedigree of all candidates before making their voting decisions.
Hon. Kamoru also tasked the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to level the ground for all parties in the coming grassroots election and advised the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, to allow the votes of the electorate to count in the coming polls.
While speaking with pannigeriannews.com on Saturday, Kamoru explained that part of the reasons for low level of development in the grassroots is the lack of credible hands as chairmen and councilors among others.
He said, “I’m a Prince of Baale Osupa royal dynasty, both in Ogbomoso North and Ogo-Oluwa local government areas and I’m hell-bent on the progress of our land.
“As the people of the state are waiting for a new dawn in the governance of local government, I charge all the electorate to consider the pedigree of each candidate in order to make their voting decisions.
“With great respect for our traditional rulers, civil servants, artisans, students, workers, and so on in the ward and Ogbomoso as a whole, I enjoin all to see the elections as a way of salvaging the system.
“I extend my warm appreciation to all our party leaders in the state down to all the local government areas and wards. God bless you all.”
