
The Oyo State government has ratified the appointment of Dr Saka Adegbite Balogun as the Balogun of Ogbomosoland.
This followed a letter written by the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III after he endorsed the nomination by the family.
The government’s approval is contained in a letter to the effect signed by Mr A. O. Oladotun, Coordinating Director (MLG&CM), and titled, “Public service announcement on the appointment of Dr Saka Adegbite Balogun as Balogun of Ogbomosoland.”
“I am directed to respectfully forward herewith the Public Service Announcement in respect of the recent approval by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, of the nomination and appointment of Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun as the Balogun of Ogbomosoland, effective from 28 April, 2025,” the letter reads.
“In view of the significance of this appointment and the importance of keeping the general public adequately informed, it becomes imperative for your esteemed office to make a special public announcement to this effect.
‘You are kindly requested to consider the attached announcement for necessary action and ensure it receives wide publicity through appropriate media channels.”
Recall that the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, who is the consenting authority to the chieftaincy being one of the cabinet chiefs (Ilu Chiefs) and one of the kingmakers.
