The one-week capacity-building programme, which took place across the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) facilities at Oke-Owode and the Iresa-Pupa temporary site of the institution, was part of NCC’s Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI).

The training focused on two major themes, Digital Skills, Cyber Security and Emerging Technologies (DiSCET) and Data Analysis Using SPSS and Microsoft Power BI, aimed at enhancing digital literacy and data-driven decision-making among academic and non-teaching staff of the polytechnic.
During the opening ceremony, the Rector of the institution, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, expressed profound appreciation to the NCC and DBI for selecting Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State as one of the beneficiaries of the national digital empowerment initiative.

He said, “On behalf of the Chairman of our Governing Council, Hon. Yakubu Dati (FNIPR), and other members; Principal Officers, Management, Staff, and Students of Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, I say a big thank you to NCC and DBI for considering us for this transformative training.
“I must also appreciate the facilitators — Mr. Ayodeji Idris (Coordinator), Mr. Isiaka Popoola (Data Analysis Instructor), and Mr. Ibrahim Adisa (DiSCET Instructor). It is my firm belief that the training will not only enrich our staff but will also strengthen the entire system in terms of productivity, efficiency, and quality service delivery. I urge all participants to make maximum use of this opportunity.”
At the closing ceremony, the training coordinator, Mr. Ayodeji Idris, lauded the institution’s management for its cooperation and commitment to staff development. He noted that the enthusiasm and discipline displayed by the participants made the training impactful.

“The participants showed eagerness to learn and adapt. It’s our hope that they will take these digital and analytical skills back to their departments to drive innovation and better decision-making,” he said.
Some participants, speaking on behalf of the trainees, described the training as “timely and highly impactful,” emphasising that the knowledge gained would enhance their efficiency and contribute to the Polytechnic’s quest for technological advancement.
“One of the participants remarked, “The sessions opened our eyes to new possibilities in data-driven operations and cyber awareness. We now feel more equipped to handle the digital demands of modern education.”
Pannigeriannews.com reports that the training aligns with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and stresses the NCC’s commitment to building human capacity across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the Rector to declare the training close, FEDPA’s Director of Academic Planning, Engr. Dr. (Mrs.), Temilola Morufat Adepoju, urged the participants to advance the knowledge gained through personal practicals beyond the trainings.
