The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is set to officially unveil the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF Abuja 2026), in a national ceremony that will signal the start of global promotional activities ahead of Nigeria’s hosting of the event next year.
The unveiling, scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, will take place at the Banquet Hall of the NAF Conference Centre, Ahmadu Bello Way, Kado, Abuja, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
According to a statement by Dr. Emmanuel Onchono, Deputy Public Relations Manager and Executive Assistant to the NIPR President and Chairman of Council, the event will be officiated by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, fnipr.
Dr. Onchono explained that the national unveiling represents a major milestone in Nigeria’s preparations to host communication professionals from around the world. The World Public Relations Forum is expected to attract delegates from over 126 countries, making it one of the most significant global gatherings of public relations and communication experts ever held in Africa.

The WPRF Abuja 2026 aims to position Nigeria as a major hub for global communication dialogue, policy engagement, and professional development in public relations. It will provide a platform for thought leaders, practitioners, and institutions to exchange ideas that shape the future of strategic communication worldwide.
Dr. Onchono urged communication professionals, corporate leaders, and the general public to participate actively in the national unveiling, describing it as “a defining moment in Nigeria’s journey towards hosting the world and showcasing the nation’s growing influence in global public relations practice.”
