Ogbomoso First Community Initiative (O’First Group), a socio-cultural organisation of Ogbomoso indigenes has extended its condolences to the management and students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso over the death of his students and a driver who died in an auto crash, resulting to fire outbreak.
Two students of Management and Accounting Department of the institution and a driver, died on Wednesday in an auto crash, leading to fire outbreak in Ilobu-Ojutu-Okini axis of Osun State while returning from self organized excursion without the prior knowledge of the institution’s management and now, four students and the driver had died.
Pannigeriannews.com learnt that the 18-seater vehicle conveying the six 500 level students of the department was not supplying fuel to the engine. So, it was said that they bypassed the pipe supplying fuel and improvised by connecting a keg of petrol through a pipe to the engine.
The group in a statement signed by its
President, Sir Olusegun Adekunle Esq, OON also commiserated with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III; Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Sanjo Adedoyin, who is the father of one of the deceased and families of other victims of the incident.
The statement read further, “The tragic loss of these younger ones who met their untimely death in their quest to acquire knowledge is painful and unfortunate.
“We share moment of grief with their parents, relatives and all the stakeholders and pray that God will grant them fortitude to bear the loss. We also pray that God in His infinite mercies will grant the departed souls eternal rest.”
