
The Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has concluded plans to meet with the people at the grassroots level across the five local government areas of Ogbomoso zone, starting Thursday, June 12, 2025.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations, Rev’d Peter Olaleye, said the meeting would dwell on the development of the land.
“The purpose of the town hall is to engage the people and discuss the idea of the envisioned ‘greater Ogbomoso’ with them.
“His Imperial Majesty,, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomosland,
unveiled a 25 year -development plan to transform Ogbomoso zone, which is on course and has been yielding positive results.
“The vision is very dear to Oba Ghandi Olaoye and so he is determined to carry every stakeholder in the Ogbomoso project along in order to give it the necessary push and vim.
“His Imperial Majesty has been engaging the elite through various platforms but since he believes everyone has a role to play, he has decided to engage the generality of the people to accommodate diverse ideas, opinions and inputs towards strengthening the agenda, and fostering unity and cooperation. Collectively, we can move mountains.
“The town hall meetings will hold across the five local government areas of Ogbomosoland and everyone with the interest of Ogbomoso zone at heart is encouraged to attend to have a fruitful interface with our Oba who has continuously demonstrated he is 21st century-compliant.”
He added that the first of the series is scheduled to come up on Thursday, 12th June, 2025, at Lagbami Osekun Civic Centre, Ogbomoso South Local Government Area Secretariat premises starting 10a.m.
“On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, also starting 3:00p.m. at Anglican Grammar Schooll Hall, that of Ogbomoso North will hold.
“The schedules for other local governments will be duly communicated to us.
“Kabiyesi looks forward to seeing us, sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland, and all non-indigenes who have taken Ogbomoso as their second home to plan to attend. If we don’t chart the path forward, it is doubtful if anyone would do it for us. Let us strive together to turn our fortune around for the better.”
