Ogbomoso First Community Initiatives (popularly called O First Group), a social-cultural group of Ogbomoso Indigenes, has commisserated with Oyo State government and victims of the explosion which rocked Ibadan on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
The unfortunate explosion, which claimed 2 lives and injured over 80 people, also damaged property and valuables in the affected area.
O’First Group, in a statement signed by its President, Sir Olusegun Adekunle, described the incident as devastating and unfortunate, especially at this time when the country is still battling with economic challenges.
“As concerned indigenes of the state, we sympathise with the victims and their families and pray that God will restore their losses and grant them quick recovery,” Adekunle said.
The group also commended the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, his cabinet members and other frontline workers including the security agencies and health workers for their swift response to the disaster.
While appealing to members of the public to be watchful and mindful of their environment, the group appreciated the efforts of state government and urged on continued improvements in the security and safety of citizens.
