The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Teliat Yunus Ayilara II, has pledged unflinching support for Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ayede, Oyo State.
Sheikh Ayilara added that the community was happy because of, what he called, the successes made so far by the leadership of the Polytechnic within the frame of two years of its establishment by the Federal Government since 2021.
The cleric stated this when he, together with his Chief-Imam-in-council and other Islamic religious leaders, made a courtesy call on the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed; Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola; Bursar, Mrs Rashidat Oladepo; Dr Samuel Ogunniyi; Chairman of the Committee of Deans, Mr Azeez Ojo, among others.
Sheikh Ayilara said, “We have decided to visit the Rector, Engr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, and the Principal Officers to felicitate the institution in the successes made so far.
“We also want to say that we will continue to support the administration in its bid to positioning it at the zenith of academic excellence.”
Welcoming the 18 guests at his his office on Tuesday, Dr Abdul-Hameed expressed his deep appreciation to Sheikh Ayilara and his team for the supports and the belief the council had in the Polytechnic, the Principal Officers, the Management and entire staff.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed hinted that of all the Polytechnics established by the Federal Government in 2021, “Federal Polytechnic Ayede is taking the lead in many areas.”
He, however, seized the medium to laud what he called the gigantic contributions of the entire Ogbomosoland communities and individuals towards the growth of the institution.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed stated, “I thank the Grand Chief Imam for his humility to visit us. If he had called me to see him, I would go to him within five minutes of his call. He is my father and long may he reign.
“So, on behalf the Management, I thank you very sincerely for the show of love. Thank you all. May God continue to bless our father, the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso and his entire team.
