The Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Timothy Oyedokun, yesterday, heaped praises on the Onpetu of Ijeri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, Lagbami Osekun 111 as he marked 25 years on the throne of his forebears.
The event, held at the palace of the revered monarch, was graced by dignitaries, traditional rulers and residents who came to celebrate the illustrious reign of the highly placed Oba.
In his address at the ceremony, Hon. Oyedokun lauded the kabiyesi’s unwavering commitment to fostering love, unity, and peaceful coexistence among the people of the ljeru Kingdom.
Oyedokun, popularly called OOT, who described the monarch as a symbol of wisdom and a pillar of community harmony, noted that Oba Oyediran’s reign has been marked by a profound dedication to the welfare of his people.
“Your Royal Majesty, your reign has been a blessing to the people of ljeru and beyond. For 25 years, you have stood as a beacon of peace and a unifying force, bringing together people of different backgrounds and ensuring that love and mutual respect prevail in our communities,” Hon. Oyèdòkun said.
The chairman further commended the monarch for his pivotal role in the progress and development of the ljeru Kingdom.
According to him, Oba Onpetu’s leadership has inspired various community development initiatives, including youth empowerment programmes, health care and propagation of virile society.
“Your Majesty, your dedication to the growth of our land is evident in the numerous developmental strides we have achieved under your guidance. From better roads to improved healthcare facilities, you have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to making Ogbomoso South Local Government Area a better place for all.
“Your leadership has been exemplary, and we are deeply grateful,” the Chairman remarked.
The highlight of Hon. Oyedokun’s tribute was his acknowledgment of the Oba’s humanitarian efforts, particularly his recent distribution of food items to the less-privileged in the community.
