The Ogun State government says investors across the world should come and establish their businesses in the state, assuring of a business-ready environment with competitive advantage devoid of tax burden.
The Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela stated this during the ground breaking ceremony of Otsuka Nigeria Nutraceuticals Company Limited’s Pocari Sweat Factory at Bara village, Flowergate Industrial Cluster saying the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration has been creating enabling environment for new businesses to start and existing businesses to expand while also enhancing the economic prosperity of the citizenry.
Sofela who also stood in for Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo added that government processes and businesses have been transformed leading to improved Ease of Doing Business stressing that land acquisition is now seamless and building permits processing are faster which makes constructions just like the Pocari Sweat Factory commence without delay.
” We welcome new investments and we encourage you to also make referrals to Ogun State because we are investment-ready and our business environment is also conducive to do business and thrive. The government has been intentional about infrastructural development and urban renewal”.
“We are also creating Economic Development Clusters just as we are witnessing in Flowergate ,Magboro, Ijebu-Ode axis and upgrading our facilities in Agbara, Atan and Ota. Our State is secure and one of the safest,” Sofela said.
Corroborating the Commissioner, Executive Secretary, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ogun State chapter, Ms. Motunrayo Elegberun in her address, attested to the business enabling environment in the State stressing that the policies of the government have been friendly to businesses.
In his address, Managing Director, Otsuka Nigeria Nutraceuticals Company Limited, Mr. Yoshihiro Bando said the construction of the factory would be completed in the next 14 months adding that over 1,000 people would be employed to work in the factory which would have a production capacity of 182 million ion drink bottles per year.
