In a bid to bolster security measures, infrastructural development, economic growth and improving the welfare of the people in Okeho and its environs, Egbe Omo Ibile, Okeho, the apex umbrella body of all indigenous Associations both at home and diaspora, is set to inaugurate several committees.
The announcement was made by Mr. Sunday Ayorinde, the Vice Chairman of Egbe Omo Ibile, Okeho, who also chairs the 10-Man Planning Committee following the committee’s inaugural meeting held at the Okeho Town Hall on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
The highly anticipated inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, 2024, commencing at 10:00 am at the Okeho Town Hall, Okeho.
Under the directive and supervision of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Abdul-Rofiu Osuolale Mustopha Adeitan II, the National body of the socio-cultural association has carefully selected accomplished individuals of Okeho descent, both locally and internationally, to serve on these committees.
The committees slated for inauguration cover a wide spectrum of crucial areas including security, education, economic development, cultural preservation, healthcare, and infrastructure: Okeho Security Council; Okeho Security Committee; Education Mentoring Committee; Economic and Industrial Committee; History, Tourism, and Culture Committee; Healthcare and Environmental Committee; Physical Planning and Infrastructural Committee.
Dr. Salawu, Alarape Kasali, Chairman of Egbe Omo Ibile, Okeho, emphasized the significance of this initiative, expressing gratitude for God’s guidance and the support of Kabiesi in facilitating an enabling environment for their operations.
He, however, urged community members to extend their full support for the success of the programme, stating, “This initiative reflects a proactive approach towards addressing critical issues facing the Okeho community and underscores the commitment of its members to collective progress and development.”
This strategic move by Egbe Omo Ibile underscores her commitment to driving positive change and fostering sustainable development in Okeho, setting a noteworthy example for other communities to follow.
