
Baptist Secondary Grammar School, Ahoyaya, Ogbomoso, on Monday, February 24, 2026, held its colourful inter-house sports competition, with Blue House, sponsored by the Old Students’ Association, emerging as the overall winner with 193 points.
The keenly contested event drew the presence of education stakeholders, traditional rulers, parents and other dignitaries who gathered to witness the display of athletic excellence and sportsmanship by the students.


At the end of the competition, Blue House clinched the first position with 193 points, followed by Pink House (sponsored by Oba Sayo Oyelowo,Elelega of Elega) with 183 points.

Green House (taken care of by Oba Onaolapo Ajadi) came third with 164 points, while Orange House (sponsored by Oba Samuel Babatunde Oyebamiji Amao, Aale of Okeelerin) secured fourth position with 146 points.

Yellow House (supported by Elesaade Family) finished fifth with 142 points, and Purple House (provided for by Mr. Akinloye) placed sixth with 128 points.
In his welcome address, the school principal, Dcn Emmanuel Adelowo, described the inter-house sports competition as one of the most anticipated events in the school calendar.


He stressed that sports play a vital role in education by building not only physical strength but also character, teamwork and discipline.
Quoting former South African President, Nelson Mandela, he noted that sports have the power to unite people and inspire greatness, adding that the event demonstrated unity among students competing under their various house colours.
The Chairman of the occasion, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Booda Sunday Adeyemo (BSA), charged students to embrace sports wholeheartedly.
He noted that secondary school sports form the foundation for national and international sports development, urging participants to take their talents seriously as future representatives of the country.
Also present at the event were the Aale of Okeelerin, Samuel Babatunde Oyebamiji Amao; the Elelega of Elega in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State,
Oba Sayo Oyelowo; former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Oyo State, Comrade Prince Toju Samson Adedoyin; Oba Onaolapo Ajadi, Alaipo of Orile-Aipo, represented; representatives of sets of 89 and 95 (Mr. Timothy Adepoju) of the Old Students Association, alongside other dignitaries who commended the school management for organising a successful and well-coordinated programme.
The occasion also witnessed donations dignitaries, includingcash gift from set 95, set 89, donation of thug of war rope.
The event featured various track and field activities including sprints, relays, jumps and other competitive games.
The competition ended on a celebratory note as Blue House lifted the overall trophy amid cheers from supporters, reinforcing the school’s commitment to balancing academic excellence with sporting development.
