 
                The Deputy Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs and the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Surulere Locak Government of the state, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, the residents of Orile-Igbon and the entire Nigerian populace on the celebration of the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the monarch described the anniversary as a moment of reflection and renewed hope for the Nigerian project, nothing that despite the challenges confronting the nation, the resilience and determination of Nigerians remain a beacon of strength that assures a brighter future.
Oba Alao commended President Tinubu for the bold reforms initiated to reposition the country’s economy and strengthen national security.
He expressed confidence that with sustained commitment, Nigeria would soon overcome its present socio-economic difficulties and emerge stronger in the comity of nations.
The traditional ruler also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his developmental strides in Oyo State, particularly in the areas of education, infrastructure, and welfare of the people.
According to him, the governor’s pragmatic leadership continues to place the state on the path of sustainable growth.
Oba Alao called on Nigerians to remain united and supportive of government policies aimed at national rebirth.
He emphasised the need for patience, perseverance, and collective responsibility in the pursuit of national progress, stressing that the journey to greatness requires sacrifice from both leaders and citizens.
He urged political leaders to prioritise policies that would alleviate the suffering of the masses, tackle unemployment, and strengthen national cohesion.
He further advised that corruption, insecurity, and poverty must be frontally addressed for Nigeria to realise its full potential.
While praying for peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for the nation, the Olugbon reminded citizens of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s founding fathers.
He encouraged Nigerians to draw inspiration from the values of unity, hard work, and patriotism which guided the independence struggle.
Oba Alao expressed optimism that the 65th Independence Anniversary would mark a turning point in the nation’s history, bringing renewed hope, growth, and stability.
