
The Majorly Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA), Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, has clarified that the Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran Lagbami Osekun 111 fully supported and aided the appointment of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III as a permanent co-chairman of the Oyo State Traditional Council.
The council was recently reviewed by the OYHA.
Hon. Adedoyin, representing Ogbomoso South State Constitency, stated this while participating in a radio programme on Parrot FM, Ogbomoso yesterday,
Hon. Adedoyin who played a crucial role in the deliberations as a leading member of the House swore the revered Onpetu called him several times to urge him to fight that the Soun be made a permanent co-chairman of the Obas’ Council.
Not only that he said the head of Oluoje worldwide backed up his claim with relevant documents to justify the right of Soun to be created a permanent co-chairman.
“To God who made me Onpetu was sending me documents insisting Soun must be made permanent chairman,” Hon Adedoyin fondly called Sanjay by admirers said.
“He sent me various documents to support the claim and justify it. He would say these are the existing facts, work on it.”
Adedoyin, of the Onpetu Ruling Dynasty, added his colleagues in the House were so much awed how he got the “irrefutable facts,” with which he supported his claim.
“But l told them, me, don’t you know I am a Prince? l have access to documents,” he said.
It was reported that the trio of the Soun of Ogbomoso, the Olubadan of Ibadan and Alaafin of Oyo are created the permanent chairmen of the Oyo Council of Obas by the OYHA, with each to spend two years in the saddle starting with Alaafin.
Meanwhile, the Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, is yet to assent to the bill.
