The Federal Character Commission (FCC) in Oyo State has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration and institutional development during a courtesy visit to Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
The Commissioner representing Oyo State at FCC, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye, led a delegation on the visit, where he was warmly received by the management of the institution.
In his remarks, the acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, commended the Commission for its continued efforts and support towards the growth of the institution.
He noted that despite being established barely five years ago, Federal Polytechnic Ayede has carved a niche for itself as one of the fastest-growing tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Dr. Ojo attributed the institution’s progress to the dedication and commitment of its pioneer principal officers, whose efforts have positioned the Polytechnic among its peers.
He disclosed that the institution was recently ranked seventh among emerging higher institutions in the country.
Highlighting academic milestones, Dr. Ojo stated that the Polytechnic has successfully graduated two sets of National Diploma students across fourteen programmes.
He added that plans are underway to commence Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes as part of efforts to expand academic offerings and strengthen institutional capacity.
Responding, Prince Aleshinloye expressed appreciation to the management of the Polytechnic for the warm reception accorded his delegation.
He emphasised that the purpose of the visit was to promote cooperation and strengthen partnerships that would enhance sustainable development.
The Commissioner clarified that beyond its widely known role in employment and job placement, the Commission is also mandated to ensure equitable distribution of infrastructure and social amenities across all units of the federation.
He assured the Polytechnic of the Commission’s readiness to collaborate in advancing its developmental goals.
“The doors of the Commission remain open for partnership and cooperation that will drive further progress,” he said.
The visit was attended by key members of the Polytechnic’s management and representatives of the Commission, including the Registrar, Mrs. Bukola Elizabeth Dairo; the Bursar, Mr. Abiola Oluwaseyi Afolabi; Director of FCC Oyo State, Mr. Babanumi Muyiwa; Assistant Director, Mrs. Toun Akinlotan; Mr. Oladipo Adegoke, Media Aide to Prince Aleshinloye; Mr. Sunday Adepoju, acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR); Mr. Aliyu Mofoluwaso Raheem; and Mr. Ayuba Tijani, among others.
