The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, has announced the fulfilment of a promise made by the Chairman, Food Solutions Group of Companies Nigeria, Pa Festus Oladejo Ajani, to upgrade the furniture in the 200-capacity Hannah Oladebo Ajani Lecture Hall earlier donated to the institution in honour of his late mother, Madam Hannah Oladebo Ajani.

During the commissioning of the edifice last year at the institution’s temporary site in Iresa-Pupa, Pa Ajani had pledged to replace the benches and desks initially supplied for the hall with more befitting furniture.
That promise has now been fully redeemed, with the lecture hall furnished with new chairs and desks that enhance its aesthetics and functionality.

Speaking on the development, the Rector of the institution, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, expressed deep appreciation to Pa Ajani for not only donating the magnificent edifice but also for keeping his word on improving the furniture to ensure a conducive learning environment.
The Rector, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff and students, also extended heartfelt appreciation to Food Solutions Nigeria Ltd and the Aresa-Pupa of Iresa-Pupa, Oba Moses Olayiwola JP, Ajiboye III, for their continuous support towards the growth of the Polytechnic.
He said, “We are profoundly grateful to our father, Pa Festus Oladejo Ajani, for his unwavering commitment to education and for fulfilling his promise to upgrade the furniture in the Hannah Oladebo Ajani Lecture Hall which had earlier donated and inaugurated. His consistency in supporting our development is exemplary and deeply appreciated.”

The Rector further commended Oba Olayiwola for his tireless efforts in mobilising individuals and organisations to support the institution, noting that his role in attracting donations has remained invaluable.
The Hannah Oladebo Ajani Lecture Hall, which includes an office, toilet facilities, and other amenities, had drawn the admiration of dignitaries during its commissioning, including the Aresa-Pupa of Iresa-Pupa, HRM Oba Moses Olayiwola JP, Ajiboye III; the Aale of Okeelerin, HRM Oba Samuel Babatunde Oyebamiji Amao; Baale Masifa, HRH High Chief Gbadebo Adeoba (now late); former AIG, Alhaji Sheu Babalola; and several others from the traditional, academic, business, and religious communities.

In his remarks during the commissioning, Dr. Abdul-Hameed had described the project as a “significant milestone” in the institution’s quest to provide a modern and conducive learning atmosphere.
He reiterated the call for more philanthropists and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Pa Ajani’s gesture.
With the fulfilment of the furniture replacement promise, the Hannah Oladebo Ajani Lecture Hall stands fully equipped and symbolises a successful partnership between the Polytechnic, the Ajani family, and community stakeholders in advancing qualitative technical education.
According to the institution, with the replacement of the furniture, the building which was 200 capacity now accommodates 300 people conveniently.
