A prominent political figure in Ogbomoso and 2023 candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Hon. Olufemi Oladokun Onireti, has formally resigned his membership from the party, citing personal reflection and the need to take a new direction.
In a resignation letter dated April 2, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Osupa Ward 9 in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Onireti announced that his decision takes immediate effect.
He noted that the move was not made lightly, especially considering his active involvement in the party, including his candidacy for the House of Representatives in the last general election.
“This decision has not been an easy one,” he stated, adding that after a period of deep personal reflection, he believes stepping away from the party is the right course of action at this time.
Onireti expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunity to serve, as well as for the relationships and experiences he gained during his time in the ŐŻŐ¸Ö‚Ő˝.
He also acknowledged the platform the party provided for his political participation and growth.
He wished the party success in its future endeavors, while urging party leaders to accept his resignation as formal notice of his exit.
The development marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Ogbomoso, as stakeholders await Onireti’s next political move.
