The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, has commended the institution’s Bursary Department for recording several landmark achievements since the establishment of the polytechnic.

Dr. Abdul-Hameed, who gave the commendation during the end-of-year programme organised by the Bursary Department, described the section’s commitment to staff development and teamwork as exemplary.
According to him, the weekly training sessions organised for staff of the department and the annual end-of-year get-together are notable strategies that reflect effective leadership under the Bursar, Alhaja Rasheedat Oladepo.

He urged members of the department to sustain the tempo and not relent in their efforts, while also charging other departments in the institution to emulate the laudable initiatives of the Bursary Department.
The Rector noted that the Bursar has laid a solid foundation and good footprint for the department, encouraging staff to ensure continuity by building on the achievements recorded so far.
In her address, the Bursar of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Alhaja Rasheedat Oladepo, expressed appreciation to the Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Yakubu Dati, council members, the Rector, other principal officers and staff of the Bursary Department for their support.

She described the occasion as particularly significant, noting that it marked the third and final end-of-year presentation she would deliver as Bursar, with the tenure of the pioneer principal officers gradually drawing to a close.
Reflecting on the year, Alhaja Oladepo said the period recorded remarkable achievements alongside notable challenges.
She highlighted the successful deployment of the Bursary Software as one of the department’s major milestones, stating that the system is fully operational and has greatly enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
She also disclosed that several staff members attended professional conferences during the year, while the department organised at least two major capacity-building programmes, including IPAS Training and Stand-Alone Accounting Training, with participants receiving individual certificates.
According to her, the trainings have strengthened the professional competence of staff and positioned them to assume higher responsibilities in the future.
She cited the recent appointment of Alhaji Kazeem Popoola as the pioneer Bursar of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), as evidence of the department’s capacity.
The Bursar, however, identified limited office space and inadequate office equipment as some of the challenges faced by the department, expressing optimism that efforts currently underway would soon resolve the issues.
She urged staff to continue working together in unity and cooperation, stressing that collective effort remains key to sustainable progress and success, while reminding them that every staff member is a potential leader.
Some staff members also testified to the leadership qualities of the Bursar.
Speaking, Mr. Ridwan Inaolaji described Alhaja Oladepo as a disciplinarian who places high value on punctuality and hard work.
Other dignitaries at the event who presented their goodwill messages included Deputy Rector (Academic), Dr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo; the Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola, represented by the Deputy Registrar, Mr. G. K. Olantinwo; the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Samuel Ogunniyi, among others.
