A leading educational institution located at Baale Yaku area of Ogbomoso, Royal International College, and Royal Kids International Nursery and Primary School, Baale Yaku area (whose main campus is at Odo Alalubosa area) have jointly held 2024/2025 Valedictory and Prize-Giving Service, an event where the leadership of the school harped on excellence.
The Proprietress of the over thirty year-old group of schools and foremost educationist, Mrs. Deborah Adenike Oyedeji, vowed to do more in providing quality education for the students, emphasising that facilities in the school are topnotch.
While congratulating the students as well as parents and guardians, Mrs. Oyedeji hinted that plans are in pipeline to bring more development to the group of schools.
“I want to sincerely congratulate you, the graduands on the successful completion of your primary school, JSS3 and SS3. You have drunk from the fountain of knowledge here at Royal International Group of School. I wish success in life. Please, make of the messages you received from the guest lecturer and guest preacher.
“To our distinguished parents, I congratulate you for determination you have and for the confidence you had in us at Royal International Group of Schools, both here at Baale Yaku area and over there at Odo Alalubosa area.
“Our esteemed staff, I thank you very sincerely for your support and dedication to your roles. God will honour you, too,” Mrs. Oyedeji said.
The guest speaker, who is the Acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, spoke extensively on the topic “Graduation: A Stepping Stone to Greater Heights”.
Adepoju said, “With a great honour and privilege and thanks to the Almighty God, I humbly stand before you today on this momentous occasion of the valedictory service of Royal International College, Ogbomoso, and generallly, Royal International Group of Schools, a beacon of academic excellence. Let me begin by congratulating the Class of 2024/2025 for achieving this milestone. By extension, I felicitate the parents and guardians of the graduands on the feat recorded today. Very importantly, I celebrate the erudite educationist of high repute and core disciplinarian par excellence, the Proprietress, Mrs. D. A. Oyedeji, for ‘birthing’ this institution very many years ago.
“Today is not just a celebration of academic achievement but a recognition of perseverance and growth of the graduands, on the one hand, and RICO, on the other hand.
“The theme of today’s celebration ‘Graduation: A Stepping Stone to Greater Heights’ is not only timely but also deeply profound. It challenges us to reflect on what lies ahead beyond this joyful moment, and how we must prepare for it.
“Graduation is not the destination; it is the bridge between what has been and what is yet to come.
“Let me use the image of a stepping stone. A stepping stone is never the final stop; it is placed carefully to help you cross over whether from uncertainty to purpose, from learning to doing, and from preparation to manifestation.
“What you have done in these past years (attending classes, writing exams, engaging in sports, participating in clubs) were all stones laid carefully by your teachers, your parents, and yourselves. Today, you are standing on that stone for the next step.”
Adepoju encouraged the graduands to have vision, discipline, resilience and purpose as they continue the journey.
In his message, the guest preacher, Pastor Tomiwa Sam Falayi, tasked the graduands to properly lay the fiundation for their future and adked to obey God’s Commandments.
Pastor Falayi also admonished the graduands to always shun bad association.
He also charged the parents and guardians to always pray for their children and wards.
While commending the staff for serving in loco parentis (in place of parents), Falayi encouraged the principal, vice principal and the teachers to bring out the best in the students of the institution.
The Principal of the school, Mr. Olumide Salami, commended the Proprietress for her staunch belief in standard and excellence in education, adding her prompt intervention has brought tremendous development to the institution.
Salami also lauded the school administrator, Pastor Mrs. Matida Oyekale, for her gigantic contributions towards the school.
Salami further stressed the invaluable contributions of Hon. Mrs. Eyinoye Wande, the (now) eldest child of the Proprietress.
Also at the colourful event with variety of presentations by pupils and students were firmer special assistant to Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala on protocol, Hon. Mrs. Eyinoye Wande; Head Mistress of RKINPS, Odo Alalubosa, Pastor Mrs. Grace Oluranti Akanbi and his sssistant, Mr. Timothy Adepoju; Chairman of the PTA of Royal International College, Ogbomoso, Pastor Gbade Oyekale; Mr. Fehintola as well as other parents, guardians, well wishers and relatives.
