Apparently elated by the installation of the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba (Pastor) Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, has congratulated the new monarch.
Pannigeriannews.com reports that the appointment of Oba Olaoye was recently approved by the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and was installed last Thursday as the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland.
While rejoicing with the traditional ruler, the entire Soun royal families, Laoye royal family and entire Ogbomoso communities, Dr. Abdul-Hameed advised the people of Ogbomoso to cooperate, support and pray for the new king and Ogbomoso with a view to bringing more developments to Ogbomoso and its environs.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed, on behalf of the principal officers, the entire management, staff and students, said this in a statement by the institution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Adepoju, on Monday.
The statement, which described the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland as a paramount ruler whose esteemed reign promises a new era of development, read in part, “I am particularly elated by the long awaited installation of the new Soun of Ogbomosoland which has now become a history.
“I sincerely rejoice with our father, Oba (Pastor) Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogege III, on his ascension to the throne of his ancestors.
“I enjoin all and sundry to continue praying for the throne and the entire communities, the state and the nation at large.
“So, on behalf of the management of the new and growing institution, I pray that God will grant Kabiesi the wisdom and strength to lead with grace and may his reign be a time of peace, prosperity and unity for all under his benevolent rule. Long live His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, Orumogege III.”
