The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has paid visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a view to championing the development of Ogbomosoland and beyond.
The high-level meeting was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the State House in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
During the discussion, Oba Olaoye expressed gratitude to Tinubu for his developmental strides since his inauguration.
During the discussions, the monarch expressed gratitude to the president for his development strides since his inauguration, particularly the ongoing dualisation of the Ogbomoso-Oyo Expressway, among many other bold reforms.
“Mr. President, I do not have speech to give, but I just want to speak from my heart about what you have done since you became the President.
“You have taken amazing strides that only a bold leader can take since you came into the office,” the monarch said.
He then solicited increased Federal Government presence in Ogbomosoland, particularly in projects like the resuscitation of the 132 KVA power station, utilisation of the two water dams in Ogbomoso, and the upgrading of General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre.
The paramount ruler also proposed the reconstruction of the Old Oyo-Ogbomoso road.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to the president for his time and for accommodating him and his entourage, representing the five local government areas in Ogbomosoland.
Speaking at the session, Tinubu highlighted his administration’s achievements and assured the monarch and his entourage that each of their requests had been noted, and would be taken care of.
