It was amidst palpable enthusiasm that the social-cultural organization of Tede Community in Oke-Ogun Zone of Oyo State, under the aegis of Tede Abejoye Parapo, held her 72nd Annual General Meeting, focusing on community development.
Held at the Tede Parapo Town Hall, Oja-Oba, Tede, Tede Abejoye Annual General Meeting is an yearly event where indigenes of the ancient community across the globe converge to deliberate on development of their land and other sundry issues.

Professor Olakunle Samson Ojoawo of the Department of Civil Engineering, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, dwelled on the need for the community to prioritize her needs and play role through politics to actualise the community’s dreams and aspirations.
Professor Ojoawo, who drew lines and lessons from the popular Abraham Maslow Hierarchy of Human Needs, itemized some practical ways of developing Tedeland through politicking, including collaborative efforts in sound education and establishment of higher educational institutions in the community; health care services and medical centres.
He also called on governments at all levels and Tede descendants to improve social amenities like good roads, water supply, electricity, among others, and to develop the commerce through creation of banks and markets in the community.

Professor Ojoawo charged the youths of the community to embrace skills acquisition and development which, according to him, is a solution to unemployment that permeates Nigerian societies and communities nowadays.
The Baptist deacon, however, admonished Tede indigenes across the world to avoid bitterness, bickering, rivalry, vengeance and backbiting as pitfalls to avoid in good politicking for community development.
The speaker, therefore, charged all Tede indigenes to always make their town first in everything they do, saying “I beseech you all, our indigenes across the world, to kindly make Tede first in all affairs relating to your politics and politicking; always think about what you can give back to the town and not the other way round.
