Many buildings, including classrooms, residential apartment filling station and others, were on Wednesday, afftected by a stormy rain in Oko, Suruulere local government area of Oyo State.
The stormy rain, which started at around twenty minutes past seven, on Wednesday evening, lasted about eighteen minutes.
The destructive rain which blew away many house roofs also swept off many shops and pulled off tree branches.
It also blew off a building roof and dropped on the facility of Radio Nigeria Ogo-Ilu, puncturing the roof and damaging one of the station’s operational vehicles.
Recounting his ordeal, manager of a filling station, Mr Johnson Adegboyega, said the wind blew away two fuel dispensers at the station.
Another resident who did not want to be quoted told newsme the wind was lifting his vehicle during the rain.
Some of the residents, while counting their losses, were appreciative to God that no life was lost to the mishap.
The residents, however, appealed to the state government through Surulere local government area to come to their aid as some means of livelihood had been destroyed.
The people who clustered in groups after the rain had subsided were discussing the unfortunate incident as they suspected that the storm was spiritually propelled.
Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, lawmaker representing Surulere- Ogo Oluwa federal constituency when contacted, sympthatised with the victims of the disaster and promised to facilitate support from the appropriate authorities.
