Guinness World Records has officially endorsed Oyo State-born Chef Adebayo Ayodeji Temitope popularly known as ‘Tope Maggie’ to try the challenge in an international innovative community initiative called “Cook-A-Thon”.
Chef Tope Maggie, pannigeriannews.com learnt, has received formal and informal trainings on hospitality and catering services.
In a statement by the project spokesman, Benjamin Eze Orji, Chef Tope Maggie, who has contributed greatly to the society in terms of food security and youth sustainable development and has raised many in being a professional chef also aims to use the “Cook-A-Thon” initiative to address the pressing issue of hunger and sustainable development in our society.
According Orji, “The project, which will be under the supervision of the Guinness World Records for eight days (200hours) and will kick start on November 9, 2023, aims to provide and distribute nutritious meals to the less privileged and families facing food insecurity for the period of the initiative, raise awareness about sustainable practices and encourage mindful consumption among participants and the wider community.
“To achieve this, the project team is hereby calling on well meaning individuals, society, groups and corporate bodies for financial support to the tune of fifty million naira to cover project expenses such as food items, procurement of certified cooking facilities, equipment, utensils, and food distribution.”
Apart from this, the statement further states “that the contributions could be in cash or in kind…that the project management will fully acknowledge their generosity in all project-related communications including press releases, social media posts and web updates and invitations to a special event celebrating the projects success.”
