The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ayede, Oyo State, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, on Monday, charged the academic staff of the institution to be hardworking and dedicated to their duties.
Dr. Abdul-Hameed also reiterated that the institution is making frantic effort in the area of staff and students’ welfare.
Addressing the academic staff at a session organised by the institution’s Directotate of Academic Planning (DAP), Dr. Abdul-Hameed charged the lecturers to tap the various opportunities available in terms of conferences, trainings and workshops with a view to developing themselves, the students and the system at large.
“There are opprtunities that our staff can explore. You need to attend conferences, workshops and trainings. These will equip you and make you relevant in your various fields. These will increase yourknowledge and contacts. Don’t also forget that traveling is part learning.”
He, however, said that the institution would not condone any act of indiscipline whatsoever, saying “We will not condone indiscipline, sexual harrassment, extortion, among others. Any lecturer that is found guilty will be ruthlessly dealt with. Our lecturers are expected to be leaders and role models to our students.”
