The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, on Wednesday, commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland and former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, as Special Adviser to President on Public Communication and National Orientation.
The Governing Council Chairman of the institution, Barrister Ademubowale Mercy Adelabu, and the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, commended President Tinubu for finding Chief Dare worthy of the appointment.
Barrister Adelabu and Dr. Abdul-Hameed, in a statement signed by the instution’s Protocols and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, stated that the appointment is a round peg in a round hole, adding that the thorough-bred communication expert and journalist will bring his expertise to work in the discharge of his duties as the presidential spokesperson.
Barrister Adelabu, in the statement, said, “The appointment of Chief Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation came as a well deserved position going by his journalistic and broadcast experiences as well his understanding of the dynamics of politics.
“We are grateful to Mr.
President for this appointment and on behalf of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, I extend our warmest congratulations to one of the iconic leaders of our party in the state and beyond.
“We, as Chairman and members of the Council, therefore, commend Mr. President and pray that God should grant Chief Dare the needed wisdom, knowledge and understanding in the discharge of his duties.”
Dr. Abdul-Hameed, also in the statement, said, “I want to, on behalf of the Management, staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, congratulate Chief Sunday Dare on his well deserved appointment as the presidential spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu.
“I will also like to commend Mr. President for finding him as the specialist for the job and, even, for appointing one of the major stakeholders from Ogbomoso and Oyo State.
“The astute professional’s expertise and diverse experiences will, no doubt, be brought to bear for the job.”
Dr. Abdul-Hameed explained that the role of Chief Dare towards the growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede cannot be underestimatated.
“Our temporary site, here in Iresa-Pupa, Surulere Local Government Area of Ogbomoso zone in Oyo State was the facility of the National Youth Development Centre (NYDC) before it was handed over to us by Chief Dare when he was Honourable Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Dr. Abdul-Hameed stated.
The Rector noted that Chief Dare’s diverse experiences as veteran journalist and broadcaster, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor and Honourable Minister would be of immense benefit to the nation.
“So, on behalf of the Management, staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, I congratulate him and his numerous supporters across the country on his appointment,” Abdul-Hameed submitted.
