As part of his “Ojuoloore Sports Empowerment 2024”, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youths in Parliament and lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency, Honourable Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao-Akala, has donated sporting materials to football clubs in his constituency and Ogbomoso Football Association.
At the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso today, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, represented by some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), donated linesman flags, corner flags, referee jerseys, footballs, whistles, cards, goal post nets, among others, to Ogbomoso Football Association (OFA).
Representing the son of the late Governor Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State at the donation event were Hon. Wasiu Olukan, Hon. Wale Adeleke, Hon. Rasaq Bello and Alhaji Love Azeez.
The gestures, according to Team Ojuoloore Sports Empowerment 2024, were meant to inspire and unite youths and football lovers of the constituency, expressing confidence that such donations, running into millions of naira, would inspire teamwork, entertainment, growth, and community spirit.
The team added that the step was geared towards building a stronger and empowered generation of Ogbomoso youths who are massive sports lovers.
From Oriire Local Government Area, the beneficiaries of Ojuoloore Football jerseys, soccer boots, and chin guards included Charity FC, Iluju; Oolo FC; and Oriire Coaches Association Football Club.
The beneficiaries from Ogbomoso South LGA included: Awoye FC; Ambassadors FC; and Ogbomoso South Coaches Association Club while Jordan FC, Tara Rovers FC, Ogbomoso North Coaches Association FC got such donations as those of Oriire and Ogbomoso South Local Governments Areas.
Inspired and impressed by the gestures, the football clubs, their managers and players as well as Ogbomoso Football Association expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala and they assured him of their unflinching support.
The groups described the Ojuoloore Sports Empowerment 2024 as a huge success, expressing confidence for Hon. Alao-Akala’s commitment to continue putting Ogbomoso on the map through sports development.
