The Bursary Department of Federal polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State has organised 3-day training on International Public Sector Accounting (IPSA) standards for its staff.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training which held between Tuesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 29, the Rector of Federal polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr.Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, represented by Deputy Rector (Academic), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, enjoined the participants to take the training seriously as he placed more emphasis on the training and retraining of staf.

Dr. Abdul-Hameed reiterated the management’s readiness to sponsor staff to any training within and outside the shore of the country.
The Bursar, Alhaja Rashidat Titilola Oladepo, while welcoming the participants to the training, said, “This programme is a testament to the management’s unwavering commitment to capacity development, professional competence and the pursuit of global best practices in public financial management.”


Alhaja Oladepo, Fellow Chartered Accountant, added “The adoption and implementation of IPSAS represent a significant milestone in the evolution of financial reporting in the Nigerian public sector. IPSAS not only enhances the transparency, comparability, and credibility of financial statements, but also aligns our financial reporting framework with international norms and best standards.

“As accountants, finance officers, and public sector managers, we must rise to the challenge of embracing these standards to ensure greater fiscal
discipline, informed decision making, and sustainable financial governance.”
Oladepo thanked the Rector for making funds available for the programme.


She said the belief of the Rector is that there would not be any human development without training of personnel of the institution.

Head of Operation, Mrs. Victoria Olowoselu; Desk Officer, Payable, Mrs. Salmat Abdul-kareem.
