The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alasa Ward (05), Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo State has congratulated the senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Chief Teslim Folarin, over his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate.
The party, which expressed confidence that Folarin is the only candidate that can defeat the incumbent governor, Engr Seyi, Makinde, and the Peoples Demcratic Party (PDP) noted that his landslide victory is a score for democracy.
Folarin, a former Senate leader, has been elected to the Senate three times.
In separate messages, the party chairman at the ward, Alhaji Rasheed Badmos, and an APC chieftain, Mrs Oluwatoyin Abeleje told PanNigerian News that the decision of the party to pick Folarin will enhance the chances of the party in 2023.
Alhaji Badmos said, “Let me, first and foremost, congratulate the the APC family on the governorship primary that held yesterday.
“The party has spoken and the exercise upheld democratic principle. We are happy, as a party at the ward level, identify with the Lagunna Olubadan who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Contents on his victory and we pray that the joy will be fullest when Folarin would have won come 2023.”
Abeleje, an aspirant for the Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire federal constituency, who stepped down yesterday for Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, lauded the initiative of the ward, saying that Alasa has set the ball rolling.
