Eminent personalities on Friday joined the General Manager of Brave 91.1 FM, Igbo-Ile, Ogbomoso, Ambassador Sanjo Saka (popularly known as Felefele) and his family at the Kersey Children’s Home, Oke-Baby, Ogbomoso, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of his mother, late Madam Maria Abayomi Adedokun (née Odebunmi).
To honour her memory, the family presented various gifts and food items to the children at the home, describing the gesture as a reflection of the late matriarch’s compassionate spirit.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Amb. Saka explained that choosing to celebrate the remembrance at the orphanage was deliberate and symbolic.
According to him, although he and his siblings were adults when their mother passed away, the void left behind remains deep, an emotion he said is even more profound for children growing up without parental care.
“We still feel the absence of our beloved mother despite being adults at the time of her death,” he said. “It is even more painful when you consider the ages of the children here. We felt the best way to mark this anniversary was to come here and identify with them.”
He expressed appreciation to all who joined the family for the humanitarian outreach, noting that their presence added colour and warmth to the remembrance.
Among those who graced the event were Yeye Oluwatoyin Odebunmi, Alhaji Sarafa Sarek Gold, Mr. Femi Ogunlana, Revd Niyi Adebayo (represented), Ododo Emi Tee Flavour, Tee Top, Sunday Adepoju, as well as dozens of broadcasters, media practitioners, family members, friends, and well-wishers.
The atmosphere at the Kersey Children’s Home was filled with gratitude as the children and caregivers received the donations warmly, commending the family for choosing to celebrate the memory of their mother through an act of love.
